Centro Style and Blue Eco Line celebrate World Oceans Day together

The Vedano Olona company celebrates, with its brand Neyeture, the first River Cleaner plant in Italy of the Florentine startup Blue Eco Line.

(Vedano Olona, 8 June 2023) - 8 June 2023 is World Oceans Day: an occasion created to raise awareness among people and institutions of how important it is to preserve marine environments. For Neyeture, the Centro Style brand that pays great attention to the materials it uses in its collections, and Blue Eco Line, the Florentine startup committed to fighting plastic pollution in rivers, this year marks a great milestone.

After 2 years of collaboration (2021-22) in which, thanks to the sales of Neyeture frames with clip-on lenses in optical stores around the world, Centro Style supported Blue Eco Line's River Cleaner project, in 2023 we celebrate the creation of the first plant that is automated and powered by renewable energy to collect plastic from rivers in Grosseto.

The plant could potentially recover up to 25,000 kg of plastic a day, preventing it from spilling into the seas, fragmenting into microplastics, and contributing to environmental protection. A concrete solution to plastic pollution in rivers, the main cause of related sea pollution. The shared desire to give nature back its space, recovering floating plastic waste and returning it to the separate-collection cycle, offers the chance to solve a problem by giving plastic a second life. A virtuous circuit that could truly make the world better.

To celebrate this great milestone, the World Ocean's Day capsule collection was created, consisting of two frames in Rilsan (biobased polyamide derived from castor oil for over 45%) with magnetic clip-on lenses dressed in the colours of the oceans. The project is completed by the matching microfibre made from 70% recycled PET bottles**, the frame case made from 100% RPET and the magnetic clip-on case made from 35% Rilsan, the same biobased material as the frames.

Each package will include a flyer made from eco-friendly paper derived from excess algae from at-risk lagoon environments combined with FSC® fibres, bearing the Impatto Zero® mark by LifeGate, like the rest of the Neyeture packaging. Thanks to a handy QR code, anyone who chooses Neyeture can discover all the details of the collaboration available at: NeyetureXRiverCleaner.it
